Algeria Address Format With Examples
Algeria is in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It is one of the largest countries in Africa and the most prominent one along the Mediterranean Sea. It has 58 provinces, districts, and communes. How people write the address for communication changes as per the level of urbanization and whether the person lives in a city, town, or rural area. Due to its colonial history, some places use the French addressing system while others prefer the Arabic format, leading to inconsistencies. Some local municipalities have their own addressing convention based on historical names and landmarks. Moreover, there are different types of addresses, each with its specific element requirement. If you want to send mail to a client or customer in Algeria but don’t know the correct address format, we will help you. We have listed all the different types of addresses, as well as the format and examples for each.
Algeria Address Format Breakdown
Recipient Name
In the first line, start by writing the name of the recipient. You can add honorific titles like M. for Mr., Mlle for Ms., and Mme for Mrs. If you send the mail to a business, the company’s name will appear first. Write the person’s name and department in the second and third lines. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name to ensure the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the correct office and desk.
Example:
MLLE NOOR SIDI
Or
FTY SARL
ATTN: MLLE NOOR SIDI
HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT
Street Address
In the second line, write the name of the street. If the recipient has a P.O. box, write B.P. (Boîte Postale is French for P.O. box) followed by the box number.
Example:
23 RUE DIDOUCHE MOURAD
Or
B.P. 34
Province
