Lebanon Address Format With Examples
Lebanon is on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Levant region of West Asia. It shares its border with Syria in the north and east and Israel in the south. How people communicate varies within the country, especially when writing an address on the mail. It does not have a fully unified national addressing system. Many areas still rely on informal or semi-formal systems. Instead of street names and numbers, people often describe locations using landmarks (e.g., “next to the old bakery” or “behind the church”). This is especially common in rural areas or older neighborhoods where streets were never formally named or numbered. Addresses in Lebanon can appear in Arabic, French, or English, and the way street names are spelled can vary wildly. Depending on their resources and priorities, each municipality may handle address organization differently. Moreover, there are different types of addressees, each with a specific element requirement. If you want to send mail to a client or customer in Lebanon but don’t know the correct address format, we will help you. We have listed all the different types of addresses, as well as the format and examples for each.
Lebanon Address Format Breakdown
Recipient Name
In the first line, start by writing the recipient’s name. If you are sending the mail to a business, the company’s name will come in the first line. Write the person’s name and their department in the second and third lines, respectively. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name if you want to ensure that the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the correct office and desk.
Example:
MS. LAYLA MROUEH
Or
ABC CORPORATION
ATTN: MS. LAYLA MROUEH
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Building Details
Write the name and number of the building, followed by the floor, apartment, and block number. If the recipient uses a P.O. box, write the term “P.O. Box” and then the box number.
Example:
BUILDING AL AMAL, 3RD FLOOR
Or
P.O. BOX 55

Special Considerations for Writing a Lebanese Address
- Address Line Alignment: All the lines should be left-aligned.
- Address Placement: Write the address on the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope.
- Punctuation: Add a comma between the name or number of the building, floor, apartment, or block.
Examples of Different Types of Lebanon Address Formats
Residential Address Format
Write the recipient’s name, building detail, street name, district, city, and country name. Every address element except the district and city name will come on separate lines.

Example:

VILLAGE OF BHAMDOUN

Military Address Format

Example:
