Martinique Address Format With Examples

Martinique is a small island and an overseas territorial collectivity of France in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea. It is not an independent country but an integral part of France, with the same political and administrative structures as those of departments in mainland France. Martinique uses the euro (EUR) as its currency and is part of the European Union.

People use varying address formats, even within the country. This is due to a combination of historical and cultural factors, despite the island officially following the French postal system.

People identify many areas in Martinique by informal neighborhood names, landmarks, or quartiers (districts) that may not be listed on official postal maps. People often include these in addresses to ensure the letter reaches the right place.

Additionally, in some rural or mountainous regions, streets may lack clear names or numbers, or homes may not have individual addresses. In such cases, people rely on descriptive or community-based references.

Moreover, there are different types of addresses, each with its specific element requirements. If you need to mail a client or customer in Martinique but are unsure of the correct address format, we can assist you. We have listed all the different types of addresses, along with their formats and examples.

Martinique Address Format Breakdown

Recipient Name

In the first line, write the recipient’s full name. You can add honorific titles like “Monsieur” or “Madame” for Mr. and Mrs./Ms., respectively. If you are sending the mail to a business, the company name will appear in the first line. Write the person’s name and department in the second and third lines. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name to ensure the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the correct office and desk.

Example:

MADAME MARIE DE PAUL

Or

ABC. LTD.

ATTN: MADAME MARIE DE PAUL

HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

Street Address

In the second line, write the street number and name of the residential or business address. If the recipient uses a P.O. box, write “B.P.” (Boîte Postale) followed by the box number.

Example:

24 RUE VICTOR HUGO

Or

B.P. 45

Postcode and Commune

Postcodes are called code postaux in Martinique, and they are five-digit numbers. In the same line, write the name of the commune where the person lives.

Example:

13241 LA TRINITE

Country Name

Write the name of the country in the last line. If you send international mail to Martinique, write the name in capital letters.

Example:

Special Considerations for Writing a Martinique Address

  • Address Line Alignment: All the lines should be left-aligned.
  • Address Placement: Write the address on the bottom right-hand corner of the envelope.
  • Punctuation: Do not add a comma between the postcode and the commune name.

Our Customers Say It Best

We have been using PostGrid for a few months. It works with our CRM, the software interface, efficiency, automation, and integration with no issues. Their support team is quick with resolution and their web portal is easy to access and transparent in retrieving transactions and analyzing weekly & monthly sending limits.

Chief Technology Officer

This API has turned out to be a great asset. We started off with 4000 mailings for 3 months and never had any downtime. I requested an increase in the sending limits and it was given to me in 10 minutes! I also have used PostGrid to verify our mailing lists. It’s been great to us and customer support is very reliable.

Vice President Of Engineering

We wanted a low-cost, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-use direct mail platform. Finally, PostGrid took all my worries in terms of snail mail. The pricing is very reasonable! There is almost no delay in the SLA’s commitment, and it is exciting to watch automation in action. Easy to build and maintain the mailing lists of our patients. Not to forget, reports can be generated, and a block editor can be used too!

Director Of Operations

We were looking for a solution to outsource and automate our process of mailing welcome letters to our customers. Previously had 2 dedicated people printing the postage label, stamping it manually and stuffing the mail and dropping it off at the postal office. It was very inefficient and could have caused major compliance issues. PostGrid helped us eliminate the entire manual process with their automation and API solution, now sending all mails smoothly.

Director of IT and Operations

Very straightforward, fast, and reliable address standardization API. We collect address data from multiple patients, clinical records, and providers and attempt to combine them into one. Addresses are often redundant or formatted differently in this process, which is our biggest challenge. PostGrid makes it easy for us to solve both of these problems simply by appending PostGrid to our datasets.
