Paraguay Address Format With Examples

Paraguay is a landlocked country in the heart of South America. The country spans both sides of the Paraguay River, effectively dividing it into two distinct regions. The eastern region is known as the Región Oriental, and the western region is referred to as the Región Occidental or the Chaco.

People within the region write the address formats differently. While there are formal address guidelines, they are not strictly enforced or universally followed, especially outside major cities. Many rural areas and small towns lack consistent street names or house numbers, so locals often rely on landmarks or informal directions, such as “next to the church” or “behind the old school.”

People from different parts of the country may follow regional customs when writing addresses. For example, in Asunción, addresses often include detailed information such as neighborhood or building names, whereas in smaller towns, directions can be more descriptive and informal.

Additionally, it is a bilingual country, with both Spanish and Guaraní as official languages. This dual-language usage can influence how addresses are written, particularly in terms of spelling and the order of address components.

Moreover, there are different types of addresses, each with its specific element requirements. If you need to mail a client or customer in Paraguay but are unsure of the correct address format, we can assist you. We have listed all the different types of addresses, along with their formats and examples.

Paraguay Address Format Breakdown

Recipient Name

In the first line, write the recipient’s full name and their mobile phone number. If you are sending the mail to a business, the company name will appear in the first line. Write the person’s name and department in the second and third lines. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name to ensure the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the correct office and desk.

Example:

JUAN PEREZ 0981307585

Or

ABC S.A.

ATTN: JUAN PEREZ 0981307585

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Street Address

In the second line, write the street number and name of the residential or business address. If the recipient uses a P.O. box, write “P.O. BOX” followed by the box number.

Example:

CALLE ESTRELLA NO. 23

Or

P.O. BOX 56

Building Name and Block Number

In the third line, write the name of the building and the block where the building is.

Example:

EDIF. ESPAÑA, BLOQUE B

Floor and Apartment Number

Write the floor and apartment number where the person lives.

Example:

Postal Code and City

Paraguay follows a six-digit postal code. In the same line, write the city’s name where the recipient resides. Some famous cities in Paraguay are San Lorenzo, Encarnación, Luque, and Lambaré.

Example:

132435 SAN LORENZO

Country Name
Write the name of the country in the last line. If you send international mail to Paraguay, write the name in capital letters.

Example:

PARAGUAY

Special Considerations for Writing a Paraguay Address

  • Address Line Alignment: All the lines should be left-aligned.
  • Address Placement: Write the address in the center of the envelope.
  • Punctuation: Add a comma between the elements sharing the same line, except postal code and city.

Our Customers Say It Best

We have been using PostGrid for a few months. It works with our CRM, the software interface, efficiency, automation, and integration with no issues. Their support team is quick with resolution and their web portal is easy to access and transparent in retrieving transactions and analyzing weekly & monthly sending limits.

Chief Technology Officer

This API has turned out to be a great asset. We started off with 4000 mailings for 3 months and never had any downtime. I requested an increase in the sending limits and it was given to me in 10 minutes! I also have used PostGrid to verify our mailing lists. It’s been great to us and customer support is very reliable.

Vice President Of Engineering

We wanted a low-cost, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-use direct mail platform. Finally, PostGrid took all my worries in terms of snail mail. The pricing is very reasonable! There is almost no delay in the SLA’s commitment, and it is exciting to watch automation in action. Easy to build and maintain the mailing lists of our patients. Not to forget, reports can be generated, and a block editor can be used too!

Director Of Operations

We were looking for a solution to outsource and automate our process of mailing welcome letters to our customers. Previously had 2 dedicated people printing the postage label, stamping it manually and stuffing the mail and dropping it off at the postal office. It was very inefficient and could have caused major compliance issues. PostGrid helped us eliminate the entire manual process with their automation and API solution, now sending all mails smoothly.

Director of IT and Operations

Very straightforward, fast, and reliable address standardization API. We collect address data from multiple patients, clinical records, and providers and attempt to combine them into one. Addresses are often redundant or formatted differently in this process, which is our biggest challenge. PostGrid makes it easy for us to solve both of these problems simply by appending PostGrid to our datasets.
