Barbados Address Format With Examples

Barbados is a small island country located in the southeast part of the Caribbean Sea. The nation has a mix of conventional and new addressing systems. Some use informal addresses based on local landmarks instead of street details. It comprises 11 parishes; hence, many refer to the location by the parish name rather than the street name. Some areas, especially the rural regions, do not have a marked street name or house number; therefore, people use local landmarks to describe the place. Moreover, there are different types of addresses, each with a specific element requirement. If you want to send mail to a client or customer in Barbados but don’t know the correct address format, we will help you. We have listed all the different types of addresses, as well as the format and examples for each.

Barbados Address Format Breakdown

Recipient Name

In the first line, start by writing the name of the recipient. You can also add honorific titles like Ms., Mr., and Mrs. If you are sending the mail to a business, the company’s name will come in the first line. Write the person’s name and department in the second and third lines. Add ATTN. in front of the person’s name to ensure the internal mail distribution system sends the mail to the correct office and desk.

Example:

MR. DAVID CLARKE

Or

ASD LTD.

ATTN: MR. DAVID CLARKE
HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

Premise Details

Write the name and number of the building, house, or apartment.

Example:

#34 HORIZON PLAZA

Country Name

Write the name of the country in the last line. If sending international mail to Barbados, write the name in capital letters.

Special Considerations to Write a Barbados Address

  • Address Line Alignment: All the lines should be left aligned.
  • P.O. Box Usage: Businesses and residents prefer to use P.O. boxes for mail delivery. Remember to confirm the preferred format before sending the mail.

Examples of Different Types of Barbados Address Formats

Residential Address Format

Write the recipient’s name, premise details, avenue name, lane name, sub-locality, locality, postal code, and country name. Every address element except avenue, lane name, locality, and postal code will come in separate lines.

Example:

MR. DAVID CLARKE

#34 HORIZON PLAZA
23RD AVE., CHERRY LANE
SUNSET CREST
ST. PETER BB13243,
BARBADOS

Rural Address Format

Typically, the streets in rural areas of Barbados do not have a formal name. Write the village’s name and the nearest larger town in this case. Add the rest of the address elements in the same way as the residential address. Many rural areas in Barbados use P.O. boxes; hence, be sure to include the number if that is the case.

Example:

MR. DAVID CLARKE

#34 HORIZON PLAZA
23RD AVE., CHERRY LANE
SUNSET CREST
ST. PETER BB13243,
BARBADOS

Business Address Format

Instead of the recipient’s name in the residential address, write the company’s name in the first line. Write the person’s name in the second line and add their department in the third line.

Example:

ASD LTD.

ATTN: MR. DAVID CLARKE
HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

#34 HORIZON PLAZA
23RD AVE., CHERRY LANE

ATTN: CHILD CARE DEPARTMENT
#34 HORIZON PLAZA
23RD AVE., CHERRY LANE
SUNSET CREST
ST. PETER BB13243

Military Address Format

Barbados does not have a military. To send mail to personnel stationed in Barbados, you should follow the address format of their respective country. Take, for instance, sending mail to a person employed in the US Army and stationed in Barbados. In this case, the military address format follows the same structure as the residential address format except for the first two lines. In the first line, write the rank and full name of the person. In the second line, write the military unit number.

Example:

CAPTAIN DAVID CLARKE

UNIT NUMBER 45
APO AA 34023

BARBADOS

Government Office Address Format

Instead of the recipient’s name, write the office and department names in the residential address on the first and second lines.

Example:

#34 HORIZON PLAZA
23RD AVE., CHERRY LANE
SUNSET CREST
ST. PETER BB13243,

Our Customers Say It Best

We have been using PostGrid for a few months. It works with our CRM, the software interface, efficiency, automation, and integration with no issues. Their support team is quick with resolution and their web portal is easy to access and transparent in retrieving transactions and analyzing weekly & monthly sending limits.

Chief Technology Officer

This API has turned out to be a great asset. We started off with 4000 mailings for 3 months and never had any downtime. I requested an increase in the sending limits and it was given to me in 10 minutes! I also have used PostGrid to verify our mailing lists. It’s been great to us and customer support is very reliable.

Vice President Of Engineering

We wanted a low-cost, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-use direct mail platform. Finally, PostGrid took all my worries in terms of snail mail. The pricing is very reasonable! There is almost no delay in the SLA’s commitment, and it is exciting to watch automation in action. Easy to build and maintain the mailing lists of our patients. Not to forget, reports can be generated, and a block editor can be used too!

Director Of Operations

We were looking for a solution to outsource and automate our process of mailing welcome letters to our customers. Previously had 2 dedicated people printing the postage label, stamping it manually and stuffing the mail and dropping it off at the postal office. It was very inefficient and could have caused major compliance issues. PostGrid helped us eliminate the entire manual process with their automation and API solution, now sending all mails smoothly.

Director of IT and Operations

Very straightforward, fast, and reliable address standardization API. We collect address data from multiple patients, clinical records, and providers and attempt to combine them into one. Addresses are often redundant or formatted differently in this process, which is our biggest challenge. PostGrid makes it easy for us to solve both of these problems simply by appending PostGrid to our datasets.
