PostGrid Glossary Interpolated Geocodes

Interpolated Geocodes

nterpolated Geocodes are estimated geographic coordinates that are calculated by using known data points along a road or within a defined area. This method is used when exact coordinates are not available, allowing for a reasonably accurate placement of an address on a map. While not as precise as direct geocoding, interpolated geocodes are valuable in enhancing location-based services and improving the accuracy of direct mail targeting.
