ZIP+4 is an extended version of the standard 5-digit ZIP Code used by the United States Postal Service (USPS). It adds an extra four digits to provide more specific location information within a ZIP Code, such as a particular building, apartment block, or suite. This enhanced level of detail allows for more accurate sorting and faster delivery of mail. The additional four digits, often referred to as “add-ons,” help postal services to efficiently handle high volumes of mail, especially in densely populated areas or for large organizations that receive significant amounts of correspondence.
